Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Km. 82 – Wayllabamba
Transfer from the hotel at 6:30 am. Come to the highway Cusco 82km – Quillabamba see the snow as Chicón, Verónica, and Salkantay. When you reach km 82 and start the Inca Trail, in the long journey we can see the ruins of Patallaqta. A stop for lunch at the right time. In the light, it goes up in the afternoon to our Wayllabamba camp, the camp, dinner, and lodging.
Day 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayo
After breakfast, we begin our second trekking day, through Tres Piedras, Llulluchapampa and reach the top of the Warmiwañusca Inca Trail (dead woman) at 4200m stop for lunch at the right time. Continuing the road we descend to our Pacaymayo camp (3500 m), camp, dinner, and lodging.
Day 3: Pacaymayo – Runkurakay – Sayacmarca – Wiñayhuayna
After breakfast, the third day of trekking to the ruins of Runkurakay and Sayacmarca at lunch. Then, walk along the road to reach Puyupatamarca (City of Clouds), another important archaeological site. After a short walk, it takes us to our last camp Wiñaywayna (always young). Visit the complex. Camp, dinner, and accommodation.
Day 4: Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco
Before sunrise, around 4:30 a.m. After breakfast, we start a short walk to get to Inti IntiPunku (Puerta del Sol), which has a fantastic view of Machu Picchu. Guided tour of about two hours through the main temples of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, and then have free time to climb to Waynapicchu. In the afternoon we went to the town of Aguas Calientes to take our train back to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco.
Huayna Picchu is located behind the mountain, where Machu Picchu to take an aerial view of the Inca citadel. There is a checkpoint in Machu Picchu to go up to Huayna Picchu. You must enter your name and receive a ticket to go up to Huayna Picchu. The guide indicates how to get the ticket, but it is not necessary to pay anything else.
